RULE OF COMPETITION (SPEECH)

GENERAL RULES OF THE COMPETITIONS

1.      SPEECH COMPETITION

General rules:

1)      The text must be original or not published yet.

2)      There will be two (2) themes containing two (2) topics of each theme in the first round, for SHS there will be five (5) themes in the grand final round.

3)      There will be two (2) rounds in this competition.

4)      The first round, the participants must choose the topic given by the committee and collect the title of the speech to the committee at the day of technical meeting.

5)      The participants have to submit three (3) copies of the text of their speech to the committee at the technical meeting or at the day of the competition.

6)      The grand final round, for JHS (Junior High Schol), the theme will be published, and for SHS (Senior High School), the theme will be given by the committee and the participants will be given 30 minutes to prepare their speech.

7)      Five best participants will go to the grand final round.

8)      In grand final round, you may do all your preparations outdoor.

9)      You may use all the support media during your speech preparation.

10)  You will have 8 minutes to present your speech.

11)  In the grand final round, the adjudicators will ask 2 questions about your speech.

12)  The instructors are not allowed to help the participants during the competition.

13)  The instructors or the audiences must keep their manner during the competition run.

14)  When the committee knows the instructor help the participants, they will be disqualified automatically.

The Participants rules:

1)      The participants must come fifteen (15) minutes before the competition begin.

2)      The participants are not allowed to leave the speech room as long as the competition.

3)      The participants will be called three (3) times, if they do not come forward, they will be disqualified.

Scoring:

a.       Content (Persuasiveness, accuracy, and structure).

b.      Language Usage (fluency, pronunciation, diction, grammar).

c.       Performance (gesture, eye contact, confidence)

1)      Exposing Youth’s Ability by Science

2)      Relation between Science and Technology

Social and Culture:

1)      The Luxurious Life Style of Public Figures

2)      Language Changing in The Young People

THEME FOR FINAL ROUND FOR JHS (JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL)

“Developing the Regional Languages in The Young People”

This competition is for Senior High School and Junior High School Students.

Quota:

1)      JHS: 20 participants

2)      SHS: 40 participants
